A lot of times these days, church is seen as something that’s exclusive, closed-minded, and judgmental. But at Community Presbyterian Church, we come together each week as a gathering of people that aren’t all alike, but that are all open to each other, rooted in tradition, but not stuck in it.
We come together to talk and listen, learn and teach, laugh and cry, sing and pray, and along the way, figure out how we can love others, love God, follow Jesus, and not only find hope for ourselves, but be hope in the world, too.

Community —it's in our name.
At Community Presbyterian Church, community is part of our name because we’ve seen how important it is and what a difference a sense of connection and real belonging makes in our lives. And we want everyone who walks in our doors to find that too, whatever your gender, age, sexual identity, religious background or lack thereof, no matter what the color of your skin, where you come from, or the amount of money in your bank account.
From our communal Sunday morning gatherings to smaller groups and events focused on your specific interests, there are plenty of ways to connect here. And if you aren’t sure where to start, get in touch with one of our staff—we’d love to help you.
Church doesn't just happen inside our building.
To us, church isn’t just about caring for those within our walls — it’s about caring for those outside of them, too. Beliefs matters a lot less to us than who we’re being in the world and what we’re doing. Jesus told us to love our neighbors — all our neighbors. So this means that around here, we talk about what’s going on in the world, and look for real, practical ways we can be loving neighbors, to those nearby and those far away. We strive to be a part of changing things for the better. Whether you’re interested in helping out at the church, getting involved in a local community effort or participating in a global mission project, we hope you’ll join us, in whatever way you can.

CPC Kids' Academy
Flexible Preschool and School-age Programs
At the CPC Kids' Academy, we provide quality home-away-from-home care and quality education for children ages Preschool to 12 years old. The Academy is licensed by the State of Illinois DCFS and is in the process of applying for NAEYC accreditation.
The CPC Kids' Academy offers the following School Year programs

Little Learners, Preschool, and Pre-K programs including Full Day for 5 hours or more, Half Day for up to 5 hours, and Part Day from 8:45am - 11:15am. ​

Before and After School Care for Kindergarten students at Prospect and Walker schools.

Before and After School Care for 1st grade—12 year old students at Prospect and Walker schools.

Attending a church for the first time can be a little intimidating, but we’d like to make the experience as relaxed as possible. If you have questions about what a typical service is like, what we believe, what to wear, where to park, that sort of thing, you will find a lot of answers here.
