Leadership

The Session
All aspects of the church and its mission are governed by the Session, which is comprised of the Pastors and 24 Elders elected by the congregation. Elders serve for three-year terms. The committees of the Session are:
  • Administration and Personnel (A&P),
  • Christian Education - Adult (CE-A),
  • Christian Education - Children (CE-C),
  • Christian Education - Youth (CE-Y),
  • Finance,
  • House and Grounds (H&G),
  • Membership,
  • Mission & Outreach (M&O),
  • Stewardship, and
  • Worship & Music (W&M).
Most committees welcome additional interested members. Resources for learning about the structure and beliefs of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in general are available from its Web site, CPC's church office, or at an Inquirer's Class. A detailed report of the activities and budget of CPC is provided each January at the Annual Meeting of the congregation. For a copy of this year's report, call the church office at 630/323-6522.

The Board of Deacons
The Deacons are entrusted with the compassionate ministry of the church and provide support for the congregation. Deacon committees include Congregational Life, Concern & Outreach, and the Worship Committee.
  • Congregational Life provides fellowship through such activities as the Seder Dinner, Easter Breakfast, All-Church Picnic, Ice Cream Social, and Thanksgiving Dinner.
  • Concern & Outreach provides care to the congregation through giving rides and visiting home bound members on a regular basis.
  • The Worship Committee prepares communion, coordinates greeters and ushers on Sunday morning, and hosts Coffee Hour.
Deacons oversee the work of Stephen Ministry as well as provide companionship for members of our community.
