Preschool
CPC owns and operates a developmental preschool that has served the congregation and the community for about 40 years, providing quality half-day enrichment programs for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Community Presbyterian Church Preschool is proud to be accredited by NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and recognized for our commitment to developmentally appropriate preschool education.Children are to be at least 3 years of age by September 1. Enrollment for the next school year begins in January and is opened first to church members and then to others. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify. Apply to Preschool Please print and complete the Application for Enrollment and return it to the church office. Additional forms are available at the church. Our Objectives Our Preschool's objectives are to develop a child's curiosity, confidence, independence and resourcefulness, all of which are foundations for future learning. Children will learn to be a member of a group away from home, respect other people and property, and adapt to routines and following directions, while learning to accept and express emotions in an acceptable manner. The curriculum provides opportunities for children to participate in meaningful, hands-on, interactive experiences. Learning occurs through the child's interaction with real objects, the teacher and other children. There are teacher-planned activities and also child-directed activities as seen in a sound, developmentally appropriate pre-school program. Activities are set up and are planned for individual as well as small group participation. Schedule The three year olds meet three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays) from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Children must be three by September 1st to enroll in the three year old class. The Pre-Kindergarten class has two options: three mornings per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays) or five mornings per week. Both options meet from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Children enrolling in the Pre-Kindergarten class must be four years old by September 1st. Licensing requirements dictate that the child must be toilet trained. Questions about preschool? Call Director Kathy Cantlon, or Cathy Stahr, (630) 323-6522.
