Cyndi has served our church as the Director of Children’s Ministries for 18 years. Prior to assuming the Directorship, Cyndi was an active volunteer in our Children’s Ministries programs, a Child Care Center teacher, and a teacher for our Preschool. Cyndi has faithfully served the children, parents and church community for a total of 30 years. Countless young hearts have been introduced to Jesus through her teaching, nurturing, and storytelling.

Cyndi was engaged with LOGOS from its inception and instrumental in creating Marketplace, our version of Vacation Bible School, that uses multiple intelligences to live and learn Bible lessons and the life of Jesus. For the last several years Cyndi has personally written the Sunday School curriculum, ensuring age-appropriate lessons that tie in with each Sunday’s sermon. Cyndi has staffed our Christian Education–Children Committee and represented our church staff at all Child Care Center and Preschool Board Meetings. Cyndi has a passion for children and has been a tireless advocate for their place in worship and their importance in our church family.

She will be missed AND we celebrate her service and dedication.

We extend warm and deepfelt thanks to Cathy for her 29 years of service and loving care to the church and community. Cathy has been the rock and center of life at CPC for many years, and we have come to depend on her for everything from communication, compassionate listening, to where can I find a screwdriver.

Cathy began her career with CPC in 1986 as a Child Care Center teacher for 4 years under then director, Nancy Hamouz.  She continued sharing her love of teaching young children in the 3-year-old class of the Preschool where she co-taught with Cyndi Frost and Leslie Kindberg for 8 years.

In 1995, Jane Clarke Whittington approached Cathy about working some part-time hours in the church office doing Children’s Ministry work under then director, Joan Reiner. She eventually took on more hours over the years managing the details of the children and youth programs for Cyndi Frost, Director of Children’s Ministries and Deb Helms, Director of Youth Ministries.   Cathy moved to full-time office work in 2005, taking on general office duties in addition to the children and youth work. Cathy was named Office Manager in 2012 and her title was changed to Church Administrator in 2016.

Cathy supervised our custodian and financial administrator.  She was also the staff support to the House & Grounds Committee and ensured that every need of the church building, manse and grounds was attended to.

Cathy looks forward to more leisure time for her great passions: reading and time with her four grandchildren. We thank Cathy for her loving kindness and her deep commitment to excellence in all matters.
