“It’s In the News!”

Thursday, March 1*

7:00 p.m.

in the Chapel

with

The Rev. Dr. Dean Lindsey

This is a class, offered on an occasional basis,

inviting those interested to engage in theological reflection on current trends in the news.

Questions such as “what does this issue tell us about ourselves?”

“Where is God present in all this?”

“What might God be calling us to do, and why?”

In this first meeting, we will look at the topic of automaton and outsourcing,

using a recent piece by Thomas Friedman entitled, “Average is Over.”

We may also have some time to discuss some related trends in education,

its costs and benefits, and how it prepares us for the world we live in.

Join us if you want to think more theologically about the news!

What goes in:

  • newspapers & inserts
  • magazines & catalogs
  • office & school papers
  • mail

None of the following:

  • no cardboard
  • no food boxes, fiberboard or chipboard

Recycling Update, June 2011

We began our Paper Retriever recycling in April, 2010.

Since that time the amount of paper we have collected and recycled through this

program saved 224 trees, almost  17 cubic yards of landfill,

and 22,971 kilowatt hours of energy.

Save and bring your recyclable papers to us, and make a difference.
