Middle School Ministry on Wednesday Nights at CPC
(5:30pm – 7:30pm)

Starting on October 3rd, we’re kicking off our mid-week middle school experience at CPC called Endeavor! Please know that your child doesn’t need to attend Sunday School Middle School at CPC to participate.

Endeavor offers 3 separate 7 week sessions between October and April. There is a small fee. Please be on the lookout for an email (and snail mail) about registration for Endeavor early next week. And, just like all of our youth activity here, you don’t need to be a member at CPC to participate!

An average night at Endeavor will go like this:

  • 5:30pm – Arrival and Creative Arts time (music, singing, skits, poetry, and more!)
  • 6:00pm – Dinner (joined with Aspire, our 2nd-5th grade ministry)
  • 6:30pm – A mixture of games, activities, sharing, and learning in the Youth Lounge! Expect some variety!
  • 7:30pm – Pick-up begins, but youth who can are invited to hang out for 30 more minutes
  • 8:00pm – All youth need to be picked up by 8:00p at the latest!

We’ll be covering topics like how (and why) to pray, acts of service, learning healthy communication, facing social pressure, showing respect, knowing your identity, having self esteem, and learning to be yourself and love yourself as God loves you. We’ll discuss and teach about honesty & forgiveness, understanding & sharing one’s faith, as well as virtues like patience, contentment, generosity, and integrity. Our goals is for these youth to know how their Christian faith can be applied and understood in their daily life. Over the course of the next few years in conjunction with the topics like the ones listed above, we’ll also cover core concepts regarding the Christian faith.

Middle School Sunday School:
Small Group Ministry (9:00am – 10:30am)

Our 6th-8th graders start off in the adult worship service for about the first 30 minutes (until they’re dismissed which is usually after the sermon), and then the Middle School Sunday School takes place downstairs in the CPC Youth Lounge and concludes at 10:30am, which is about 15 minutes after our adult worship service ends. This way:

  1. 1.  We can have a better middle school small group experience and more time to accomplish our relational work and mentoring with these amazing young people.
  2. 2.  It positions middle school parents in a place where they’re more likely to chat and connect with each other organically (probably in fellowship hall) as they wait for their child to finish.

While your middle schooler is in Sunday School they will be experiencing customized middle school curriculum based on the key scriptures and stories that will be shared from our pastors on Sundays. There will be a middle school specific discussion guide, fun group building activities, further scriptures to study, and time to and questions.

CPC Middle School Retreat!

March 1st – 3rd will be our CPC Middle School Retreat!image1

We’re headed to Lake Geneva Youth Camp. Specifically, we’ll be headed to their Conference Point Campus right on beautiful Lake Geneva. Further info and registration will be shared later this fall, but for now… please mark your calendars! This will be an exciting weekend for any an all middle schoolers, and one that has the potential to be very impactful! Sacred moments tend to occur when youth have the chance to retreat with their peers and adult leaders so they can focus on their faith and on their relationships with each other.
