Here is a world created especially for young children.
Here is time to playto thinkto talk and listento create, to share, and to learn.

Our developmental preschool has welcomed the children and families of the community for over 50 years, providing quality half-day enrichment programs for 2½, 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Community Presbyterian Church Preschool is proud to be licensed by DCFS and accredited by NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which recognizes our commitment to developmentally appropriate preschool education.

Our Objectives
Our Preschool’s objectives are to develop a child’s curiosity, confidence, independence and resourcefulness, all of which are foundations for future learning. Children will learn to be a member of a group away from home, respect other people and property, and adapt to routines and directions, while learning to accept and express emotions in an acceptable manner.

The curriculum provides opportunities for children to participate in meaningful, hands-on, interactive experiences. Learning occurs through the child’s interaction with real objects, the teacher and other children. There are teacher-planned activities and also child-directed activities as seen in a sound, developmentally appropriate pre-school program. Activities are set up and planned for individual as well as small group participation.

The curricular activities directly correlate to the Illinois Early Learning Standards from the Illinois State Board of Education, giving each child a foundation for future success.
