Before and After School Program

The before and after school program is open to children from Prospect, Walker, and Manning schools and includes full or part time enrollment options. Bus service is provided to Walker and Manning schools.

Kindergarten before and after school care is available for children who attend morning Kindergarten and includes a hot lunch that meets state nutritional guidelines.  Care is available on many non-attendance school days.

The Center is staffed by experienced, highly qualified teachers who meet or exceed DCFS licensing standards. Our nurturing teachers plan a variety of inspiring learning activities and provide a safe, comfortable and enriching environment for the children.  After school activities may include dedicated home work time, indoor or outdoor large motor activities, arts, science, cooking, yoga, board games, crafts, and/or quiet reading time, to name a few.  Activities vary throughout the week to encourage interest and participation.

NEW Full Day Early Learning Program

Our new early learning program is open to 3, 4 and 5-year-old children and includes half day and full day enrollment options.  Hot lunch that meets state nutritional guidelines will be served.

The early learning program will be staffed by highly qualified, experienced teachers who meet or exceed the state educational requirements.  Our researched based curriculum will engage the children thru hands-on learning center activities and is designed to meet their individual emotional, social and cognitive needs.  Our philosophy is that children learn best through play in a developmentally appropriate, engaging and nurturing environment.

Enrollment

Priority registration for Fall 2019 is given to the Early Learning Program, Kindergarten children and currently enrolled families. Once current families are enrolled we will know the availability of spaces for children in 1st – 5th grade.

Once your child is accepted to the Center you will be notified that a deposit will be due to hold your child’s place at the Center. This deposit will be applied to the first tuition payment. You need to be aware that this fee is non-refundable after June 30, 2019.

Kindergarten families need to be aware of scheduling for fall as follows: Due to lunch and bus schedules all Prospect and Walker kindergarteners are asked to attend Kindergarten in the A.M. and return to the Center for the afternoon. There will be no bus service to afternoon Kindergarten.

Due to licensing capacity the Center can only register a certain number of children; therefore your quick response is appreciated.

Please email the Center at childcare@chcpc.org and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
