Serving at Church

There are many ways to give of yourself and help others, right here within our own church walls. Here are just a few of them.

DuPage PADS site

We host a DuPage PADS site.  This means we open our doors to anyone in need of interim housing on Saturday nights from October through April.  There are always opportunities for folks to offer hospitality to the guests that come to our church. Please contact Pastor Beth at beth.fd@chcpc.org if you want to help!

Charlotte’s Closet

Collect clothes for Charlotte’s Closet.  By gathering gently used clothing items (coats and jackets, pants, shirts, socks, outerwear) for all ages and genders, we are able to support local clothing donation sites and further assist the guests who come to our church via the DuPage PADS program.

Mission Trips

Form Mission trips to go out to God’s world, sometimes near and sometimes far.  See Serving the World for more information.

Food Drives
We regularly participate in community food drives (organized by our church and by others).  We are so thankful for the blessing of food in our lives, and we hope that by feeding others God’s love may spread as well.

Souper Luncheon
Enjoy this time together eating delicious soup donated by congregation members, supporting local mission through your donations, and walking home with a recipe book!  Bon Appetite!

Sew! Now Mission Stichers!

We've changed our name and broadened our vision. Mission Sewing is now Mission Stitchers. Anyone interested in sewing, knitting, or crocheting for charity is welcome. We are happy to teach you, too. We meet on Thursdays from 9 - 11 AM in Room 6-8.

Meal-a-Month Bag

Meal-a-Month bags are distributed the first Sunday of the month. Any non-perishable items are very welcome, as are cleaning supplies, paper products and grocery gift cards Please return your donations to the church the following Sunday. If you are not in church to pick up a bag, fill your own.  Remember, hunger takes no vacation. Your donations help feed those who are hungry in our immediate area through the Hinsdale Community Service pantry. If you have any questions, contact Donna Gabanski
